“Listening is a superpower; it opens doors to knowledge and builds bridges of understanding.” — Unknown

Once upon a time, in the beautiful forests of India, there was a smart owl named Shravana. He lived in a tall tree and had a special talent he loved to listen more than he liked to talk.

Shravana believed that true wisdom comes from being a good listener. He would sit quietly and pay attention to the sounds of the forest. The wind, the birds singing, and the leaves rustling all had something important to teach him.

One day, a friendly squirrel named Arjun came to visit Shravana. Arjun was full of questions and wondered how the owl became so wise. He asked, “Hey Shravana, how did you become so smart, so intelligent?”

With a very kind smile, Shravana shared his secret with Arjun. He said, “The wisest bird is the one who listens more than he speaks. When we listen, we learn new things and understand others better. It’s important to be patient and pay attention.”

Arjun was amazed by Shravana’s words. He decided to become a better listener too. He started to quiet down and pay attention to the forest around him. Arjun learned from the old trees and the experienced squirrels and became wiser every day.

Shravana also told Arjun a story about a great sage named Vyasa, who lived thousands of years ago. Vyasa was known for his deep wisdom and knowledge. He spent years listening to the ancient scriptures and teachings of his time, gaining profound insights and sharing them with the world.

Arjun was inspired by Vyasa’s example and by the listening power of Shravana. He realised that by listening, he could learn from the wisdom of those who lived long ago and apply it in his own life. Listening makes us wiser and helps us become more understanding and compassionate towards others.

lessons learned: Listening is an important skill we should all practice. It helps us understand others better and learn from their experiences. Being patient and paying attention is how we gain valuable knowledge and become wiser.

“The wisest bird is the one who listens more than he speaks.”
